Frequently Asked Questions: Delivery
What happens if I am not in when my order arrives? (UK Deliveries)
Posted by on 21 March 2012 04:03 PM

If you are not in when your order arrives, don’t worry as there are ways you can still get your parcel.

DPD

If your chosen courier is DPD and you were not available when they tried to deliver your products. They may have left it with a neighbour as their own company Terms & Conditions state that they are allowed to do this.

You can also leave a signed and dated note by your front door requesting that the driver leave your parcel in a safe place (within the boundaries of your property) notified by you in the note or with a specified neighbour in the same street. The driver will then leave the parcel in that place and take your note as evidence of permission to leave the parcel and also of your signature. If you do not date and sign it, the driver is not required to follow the instructions.

Please note that if the courier has delivered the order to a neighbour and a signature is obtained, it is your responsibility to collect it from the address specified on the tracking information or the calling card that would have been left at your address. Unfortunately, once an order has been signed for we are unable to consider claims for compensation against loss or late delivery. If you encounter any problems in retrieving your goods from your neighbour, please contact us and we will put you in touch with the relevant courier service who will be able to assist you further. Alternatively, you can contact them directly using the information on the calling card they will have left at your address at the time of delivery.

If you have requested that they do not deliver to a neighbour, they will have left you a calling card with an individual card number on it. You can use this link to organise re-delivery of your parcel:

http://www.dpd.co.uk/callingcard/b1/showCardForm.action?fldDirectOption=RED

You will need to enter your unique calling card number and the postcode of your delivery address.

If for some reason you don’t have access to the calling card, or you had to go away when your parcel was due, DPD will automatically try to deliver it the following day, and if unsuccessful this time, they will then return it to us. In most instances they will inform us of this, and in such cases we will contact you by email to advise you that DPD have tried to deliver your products but were unable to do so, and we will request that you contact DPD to arrange a date suitable for yourself.

If for any reason DPD do return the parcel to us, we will email you the day it arrives back in our warehouse and advise you of your options for redelivery.

You can contact DPD on 08445 560 560 to request delivery information or on 0844 824 0505 if you have a calling card.

Parcelforce

They will leave you a calling card to advise that they attempted delivery, or they may have left it with a neighbour; as their own company Terms & Conditions state that they are allowed to do this.
